Dr. Gangil Byun

G_Byun

Dr. Gangil Byun received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Hongik University, Seoul, Korea in 2010 and 2012, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea in 2015.

After graduation, he worked as a research professor in Metamaterial and Electronic Device Research Center at Hongik University from September 2015 to January 2018.

Dr. Byun is currently an assistant professor in Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), and his principal areas of research are in the design and analysis of antennas and antenna arrays for adaptive beamforming applications, such as direction of arrival estimation, interference mitigation, and radar.

His recent research interests are in satellite antennas, time-modulated antenna arrays, waveguide slot arrays, microwave measurement for bio sensing and, sub- and non-radiative metasurfaces.
